Amelia has gotten really into baking this past year – from cakes, to breads and even savory dinners, she has really discovered a love for it. She especially likes to make sure a few things are always in the freezer: these waffles, these cookies, these muffins, and these Buttermilk Drop Biscuits below. Breakfast, lunchbox snacks and a quick side dish to dinner that are easy to grab are always in our house now!
The best part about these biscuits is you have fresh bread that’s insanely easy to make and doesn’t need to be kneeded in 20 minutes. They don’t need yeast either!! Just combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mix and plop them on a pan to bake. Once they’re cooked, spread some butter or jam on these and they make such a nice treat.

Buttermilk Drop Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Oil spray
Directions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees, and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt until combined.
- In liquid measuring cup, use fork to stir buttermilk and melted butter until butter forms small clumps.
- Add buttermilk mixture to bowl with flour mixture. Stir until just combined.

- Spray inside of 1/4 cup dry measuring cup with oil spray. Use greased cup to scoop batter and use butter knife to scrape off extra batter. Drop scoops onto baking sheet to make 9-12 biscuits (leave space between biscuits).

- Place baking sheet in oven and bake biscuits until tops are golden brown, about 12-14 minutes.

- Remove baking sheet from oven and let biscuits cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm. Enjoy!
