The Perfect Basic Beef Burgers

BBQ season is one of my favorites!! There are so many amazing things you can make on a bbq at your house or to bring to a bbq party at someone else’s house.

One of the easiest is burgers – a simple, easy to make, delicious burger can be the central dish to any bbq. It only takes a few ingredients to make a really tasty burger and a few more minutes to cook it. What I like to do to my burgers is leave a thumb-print in the middle of them so the burgers don’t shrink up. Who would want that, ya know?!

Now, if you are like me and also like bbq side dishes, you have to check out  some of my favorite dishes here! There are a mix of side dishes, main dishes, vegetarian dishes, sweet dishes…. you name it! You’re about to be very full! Happy BBQ’ing!

The Perfect Basic Beef Burgers

  • Servings: 4 burgers
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil grate.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together egg, salt and pepper. Place ground beef and bread crumbs into the mixture. With hands or a fork, mix until well blended. Form into 4 patties approximately 3/4 inch thick. Push your thumb slightly into the middle of the burger so it leaves a small imprint – this helps the meat cook evenly and the burger hold its shape.

  3. Place patties on the prepared grill. Cover and cook 6 to 8 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.img_4256

  4. Remove from heat and serve along side your favorite bbq side dishes. Enjoy!img_4267
