Homemade Chocolate Frosting

The other day, we had something really special to celebrate with my youngest. It was something super important to her and she asked for a little ‘family celebration’. I wanted to make it feel extra special to her, so I made some cupcakes with her favorite chocolate frosting. A rich, creamy, deeply chocolately frosting. The kind where you only want to keep licking it off over and over! This is that one! It’s decadent and delicious!

While this frosting is just about perfect, frosting in general can be finicky if you try to use it on cupcakes that have even the slightest warmth to them. So the trick is to just let the cakes themselves cool for an hour or so before frosting them. That way, your frosting will stay exactly where you want it to.

If you’re more of a vanilla frosting kind of person, you can find my favorite vanilla frosting here. Whether you’re a chocolate or vanilla flavored person, you’re going to love these! Happy baking!
