Friendly Lion Snack Dip

Happy birthday to our sweet Matilda!

This past weekend, she turned 4!!! She wanted a full on Wild Kratts themed party at home so we had some animal-tastic fun, especially with the food. We served ‘snake sandwiches (aka rainbow bagels)’, Wild Kratts themed cupcakes and this friendly lion snack dip. It was super healthy and the kids loved eating their veggies in a fun way. Some of the parents were even surprised how many veggies they ate, so that’s a definite win-win!

It takes 5-minutes to put together and can even be made for a fun family weekend. Definitely something to try out with the kiddos! If you make it, let me know what you think in the comments below!

  • Sliced red, yellow, and orange bell peppers

  2. Layer the sliced bell peppers around the outer edge of the platter. Add a layer of baby carrots on top of the bell peppers, working your way around the entire tray.
  3. Next, add two Ritz crackers to the top corners of the hummus, to make the lion’s ears. Cut two slices of black olive and add them above the large round cracker to make the lion’s eyes and another one for the nose. Place three pretzel sticks (or whatever you have) on either side of the lion’s muzzle to form the whiskers.
  4. Serve cold and enjoy! img_7344
