Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats

Breakfast is served! But made the night before? Or at lunchtime? Or any time? Yes! You can make these IP steel cut oats any time of day and they’ll be ready for you to eat for breakfast all week long. Healthy, easy and delicious!

I love making mine with milk, but you can of course make them with water too. And we all top them differently: I top mine with fruit and honey, Amelia likes honey and raisins, Trevor likes banana and honey and Matilda likes it plain. 🙂

These oats are seriously easy eats but if you don’t have an Instant Pot, I have a slow-cooker recipe here that’s equally as good!

Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats

  • Servings: 6
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Ingredients

  • 2 cups steel cut oats
  • 5 cups milk, any kind

Directions

  1. Combine the steel cut oats and milk in the Instant Pot and stir.img_5828-1
  2. Cover with the lid and make sure you turn the vent at the top to “sealing.” Press the manual button and then lower the time to 4 minutes on high pressure. Once the timer finishes, allow the pressure to naturally release for 20 minutes. Once the 20 minutes have passed, turn the vent to the “venting” position to release any remaining pressure. Remove lid and stir.img_5834
  3. Serve warm with fruit, maple syrup, cinnamon, and/or a splash of milk Enjoy!
