This is a basic waffle recipe that you can add anything to. It can be the base for fruit waffles, chocolate waffles, nutty waffles or just plain old waffles.
Some waffle makers don’t need to be sprayed with cooking spray ahead of time, but others do. So go with what your waffle maker says. Mine cooked for about 5 minutes but adjust yours as desired.
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat waffle iron. Beat eggs until fluffy, about 5 minutes. Beat in flour, milk, vegetable oil, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla, just until smooth.
- Pour mix onto hot waffle iron. Cook until golden brown. Serve hot with the toping of your choice. Enjoy!
