Basic Vinaigrette

Vinaigrettes are the glue for any good salad, and they taste 100% better when made fresh. They’re super easy to make and can adapt to anything you make. You probably already have the ingredients on hand too! Give it a try on watermelon spinach salad or to marinade chicken.

Basic Vinaigrette

  • Servings: 4

  • 3 parts extra virgin olive oil (or grape seed oil)
  • 1 part (good) balsamic vinegar (or red wine vinegar)
  • Salt & pepper 


  1. Add the oil, vinegar, salt & pepper to a covered jar and shake until mixed. Taste and adjust seasoning, if needed.
  2. Pour over food and enjoy!
Note: Try adding other things to this recipe, like dijon mustard to lemon juice or parmesan cheese, to enhance the flavor of whatever you’re making. Experiment with it!
